Grace Gardner is an Arts Administrator from southeast Michigan. She obtained a BA in African American Studies with a minor in Sociology from Emory University. Grace is deeply passionate about utilizing art and community engagement to disrupt conventional schools of thought, excavate meaning and further understanding, and cultivate community. She currently works at Clark Atlanta University’s Art Museum and REMERGE. Grace also serves on Idea Capital’s Steering Committee.
Intimacy describes close familiarity or connection. In thinking about expressions of intimacy with others in this period of being physically distanced from loved ones, I wanted to explore how intimacy is portrayed, and how new connections can be made and are encouraged within contemporary works of art.
