Mission

Black Women in Visual Art (BWVA) is a company for womxn visual art and culture professionals of the African Diaspora. Promoting and celebrating the contributions of Black women impacting the art world's past, present, and future. Nurturing the growth of Black women arts workers is our essential mission. BWVA aims to foster networks, share resources and develop programs with the goal of increasing visibility and access for women in the global majority. BWVA was created to steward enduring representation, leadership and lasting equity in the visual arts and cultural sector.
