The BWVA Foundation is 501 (c)3 that was founded in 2023 by BWVA Partners, Daricia Mia DeMarr and Lauren Jackson Harris to provide resources, programs and opportunities for Black womxn, from students to senior level leaders. We aim to serve art workers with opportunities for connectivity, career development, and moments of reprieve through thoughtful programming and activations.

Mission:

The BWVA Foundation cultivates support and advancement for Black womxn arts workers to establish lasting equity in visual art spaces and the greater cultural landscape. By increasing visibility and access we aim to steward and nurture enduring representation and leadership in the visual arts and cultural sector. 

Program pillars:

  • Developing and managing funded and/or partner based fellowships and internships

  • Educational and professional development programs and grants

  • Intergenerational events for networking and continued growth
